Autism and Animals

We wanted to create a website that provides parents of children with Autism with information that is supported by psychological literature and based on qualitative feedback from other parents. Our website aims to provide parents with a combination of knowledge on animal therapy and resources they can avail of without being overwhelming!

Project Description

Animals and Autism gives a wide range of information on pet dog and equine therapy and their benefits, information on specific dog breeds, Autism friendly days out and resource centers and a forum for asking questions and sharing advice and information with other parents! Our hope is that this website can be a valuable resource for parents, that encapsulates a wide range of information while also being easy and enjoyable to use.

Project Findings

Our surveys found that parents were searching for a collection of information in one place. By asking for feedback and suggestions we found that parents wanted a resource that was easy to use and not full of scientific jargon. Our surveys found that there was a need for information on dog breeds suitable for therapy which considered various lifestyles and situations.
