ChipIt — An Ionic Chipper location Application

Our projects aim was to provide a clear and concise map displaying the location of chippers and takeaways in a set radius based on the current users position. Additionally, we wished to give users the freedom to favourite chosen locations, that would be added to their favourites list and could be accessed at any time.

Project Description

We created ChipIt with the intention of providing users with a clear and easy to use application that anyone could utilize as they see fit. It was something that we both considered could be very handy to have, and designed it based on what we would want in an app. As such, the result is a small, yet complex application, utilizing geolocation(Usin the google maps API) and multiple frameworks, such as the Ionic and Slim Frameworks, as well as various languages such as TypeScript, Javascript and HTML, all working in tandem to create this simple yet effective program. This allows people to discover new locations that they may not have been aware of, or keep tabs on the best places to get meals. We also provided an account feature, so users data and can be accessed from other devices if they feel the need to do so.

Project Findings

Based on various User Testing sessions, we discovered that users found the application to be very useful in both finding new locations to get food, as well as keeping tabs on some of their favourites. Additionally, it was based on these user tests that we found the app wasn't very clear, and as such allowed us to update it accordingly and more clearly visualize the details on screen.
