Home — exhibit on homelessness
To investigate whether Spatial Augmented Reality, Tangible User Interfaces and Data Visualisation can be used to improve the perception of information
This project was created to explore the effects of Spatial Augmented Reality (Projection Mapping), Tangible User Interfaces and Data Visualisation on a person's perception of information. In order to explore this idea, statistics on Homelessness in Ireland were visualised using Processing 3, a creative coding application. The user interacts with the project by placing the blocks provided into small holes made in a projection surface.
It was found that the combination of the concepts developed in the project, could improve a person's ability to perceive information. This is due to the fact that the user is interacting with the information as opposed to receiving information from a news source.
